The FADER

I am Social Media Editor at The FADER, a music and culture magazine that focuses on emerging and underground artists and trends, where I craft our social and brand identity. I lead all our social channels and am in charge of digital copywriting, art direction, and video production, and oversee social growth and engagement across Instagram, Facebook, X, and TikTok.

I develop content strategy based on social trends and viral hitters, write and ideate on-site and snappy social copy, brainstorm our editorial content calendar, and design bespoke social graphics using Adobe Photoshop.

I created, produced, and edited our social-first video series “Mini Tapes” and “Either/Or.”

I grew our Instagram engagement by 80% and hit our target of 1M+ followers within six months of joining.

I created, produced, designed, and edited our social-first video series Mini Tapes and Either/Or.

With Mini Tapes, we ask musicians to name three albums or songs to fit a mixtape of their choosing: Trace Mountains selected three songs to soundtrack an alien abduction, and Soccer Mommy chose three songs to set the scene for a Halloween Party.

With Either/Or, we ask bands to pick between a series of random things to allow them a chance to let their personality and creativity shine!

I spearhead our editorial rollout strategy for our flagship end of year package, in which we compile our yearly lists of Best Songs and Best Albums. These lists are the bread and butter of our magazine, spotlighting the best music, musicians, and songs that impacted our lives for the better. I was in charge of art direction, social strategy, brand voice, digital copy, and narrative tone across all platforms.

I created individual social assets for both Best Songs and Best Albums lists for maximum shareability, and worked with our in-house designer to establish the tone and aesthetic of our editorial package. Our 2024 rollout was our best year yet for engagement and impressions, with our social posts amassing 100k+ interactions across Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.

I establish brand identity, voice, and language across all of our platforms. I execute our social strategy for everything that we publish on the editorial side, and post reactive content, viral memes, and news posts based on current trend cycles and buzzworthy events in music and culture.

I also create and design bespoke graphics for each of our editorial verticals, including features, profiles, franchises, columns, album reviews, artist guides, in-depth explainers, breaking news stories, and so much more.

CONSEQUENCE

I worked as Social Media Manager at Consequence, the leading music and pop-culture website, where I spearheaded our social content strategy, ideated and planned video production, collaborated with designers and creative teams to establish visual and brand identity, and worked with our Audience Development Manager to hit our goals for social growth.

I also wrote and edited features, blogs, and criticism, and worked with our in-house marketing team to liaise on branded campaigns and wrote copy for sponsored partnerships.

I oversaw over 1.1M organic TikTok views as part of the social team and increased followers by 40%.

GOAL

I was a Social Media Editor at GOAL, the largest digital football publication in the world, where I managed all our social media accounts and optimized our editorial content. I handled long-term social strategy, social concept creation, curated social media feeds during matchday and breaking news shifts, and maintained our brand identity across an audience of 20M+ followers across X, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, with an emphasis on strong visual identity and short-form video.
